Welcome to the Lions Club Hannover-Expo
We serve
This mission and official motto of Lions Clubs International (LCI) brought together 33 men and women from the southern region of Hannover in Lions Club Hannover-Expo at the beginning of 2010.
Lions Club Hannover-Expo was founded in Laatzen on 20.01.2010 in the vicinity of trade fair and former Expo-2000-grounds.
The Expo is our eponym – not only because of the geographical proximity, but also because of its forward-looking motto “Humankind, nature, technology – a new world arising”. The Expo 2000 chose as a theme visions for the future, models for a balance between humankind, nature and technology, as well as possible solutions for living together for what was then more than six billion people worldwide. Unlike in previous world exhibitions the global idea of the Expo was actually lived in the Expo-2000-projects which took place not only in Hannover, but also in 123 countries.
The aim to arouse the spirit of mutual understanding among the peoples of the world is shared by the Lions and the Expo.
Lions Club Hannover-Expo intends to bring the motto “We serve” to life in different ways. The members want:
- To serve the association together, and to live the aims and ethical fundamental principles of Lions Clubs International
- To promote the public spirit of young people locally
- To support forward-looking social and cultural projects serving the development of society and the understanding of ethnic groups and people
- To contribute to maintaining and improving the quality of life of people there in cases where this task can not be performed by others.
